The Process of Discipleship At Westwood Alliance Church
At Westwood Alliance Church we believe there is a process of Discipleship
as given to us in Matthew 28:18-20. We believe the command is to make
disciples of all nations. We also believe this command is given to every
Christian who professes the name of Jesus. With this in mind, this is how we
propose to make disciples of all nations, and these are the ministries we
offer to accomplish that goal.
Sunday School
Notice the extent of the
call in Matthew 28. We
are to make disciples
of "all nations." This is
for all of us.
Therefore, we have
what is called a Great
Commission Fund. It
is a fund we give
money to that sends
missionaries where I
cannot go and make
disciples. Thus, I
cannot go to al
nations, but I can send
people in my place.
We encourage people
to give to this fund to
send people in their
place.
Worship Service
In order to make
disciples, we must be
disciples ourselves.
We worship
corporately and listen
to expository
preaching so that we
know Christ and can
make Him known to
others.

Small Groups
In order to make
disciples and "teach
them to obey all that I
commanded..." we
must know what
Jesus commanded.
This takes place in
Sunday school where
we teach the Bible and
theology.
We walk this Christian
life together. Thus, we
must hold one another
accountable and be
there to pray for one
another. We also
sometimes need help
walking this life. With
this in mind we offer
small groups. A place
to go and talk about
how do I live the truth
that I am learning
through God's Word.
Currently our small
groups are studying
Proverbs.
